NORTHEAST-10 CONFERENCE RELEASE
SOUTH EASTON, Mass. – Rob Murray (Marblehead, Mass.) and Ryan Gruett (Lititz, Pa.) both were honored with Northeast-10 Conference post-season awards Thursday afternoon. Murray was named to the All-Conference Second-Team, while Gruett earned a spot on the All-Conference All-Rookie Team.
A senior, Murray finished second on the team in points with 34, including a team-high 18 assists and added 16 goals. The midfielder was one of seven players on the team to appear in and start all 15 games this season for SNHU.
Murray had a season-high five assists in a win over Saint Anselm on April 2 where he also scored a goal for six points. He totaled four points on two different occasions, with a pair of goals and of assists, and recorded a point in all but three games this season.
The senior recorded his 100th career-point in a win over American International College where he had four points, and finishes his tenure at SNHU with 102 career-points, one shy of the record books.
Gruett appeared in 13 games with 13 starts this season for the Penmen. The defenseman
totaled 15 ground balls, while causing three turnovers for Southern New Hampshire.
He recorded a career-best four groundballs in a setback at Saint Michael's on March 26, and had three on two occasions, including a loss at Assumption, and a win over American International. In his first playoff appearance as a Penmen, Gruett recorded one groundball and one caused turnover in an 8-7 loss to Bentley.
