– The Southern New Hampshire University
women's cross country team placed third out of nine schools
at the Bruce Kirsh Cup hosted by Franklin Pierce University on
Saturday. The Penmen finished the four-kilometer event behind
Merrimack College and Adelphi University. Le Moyne College
and the host Ravens rounded out the top five, followed by Southern
Connecticut State University, American International College,
Wheelock College and Johnson State College.
Sophomore Laura
O'Hanlon (Dedham, Mass.) led SNHU with a fifth-place
finish out of 81 runners, traversing the course in a time of
17:02. Junior Stacey Wojcik (Wrentham,
Mass.) placed sixth with a time of 17:03, while Abigail
MacBeth (Cumberland, R.I.) finished 14th
overall with a 17:51 effort.
Alicia Cutter
(East Bridgewater, Mass.) placed 41st with a time of
19:01, while Melissa Stacom (Massapequa, N.Y.)
recorded a time of 19:47 to finish 52nd.
Sarah Hassett (Brewster, Mass.) placed one spot
behind Stacom, notching a time of 19:48.
Southern New Hampshire returns to
action next Saturday at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
