MANCHESETER, N.H. - The Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team finished seventh out of nine teams on Saturday, as they took part in the Shacklette Invitational at Saint Anselm College.
Leading the way for the Penmen was sophomore Laura O'Hanlon (Dedham, Mass.), who finished 17th in a field of 124 runners with a time of 20:06. Shortly behind her was junior teammate Stacey Wojcik (Wrentham, Mass.), finishing in 20th with a time of 20:23.
Making their NCAA competition debuts were freshmen Alicia Cutter (East Bridgewater, Mass.), Kaitlin McCauley (Waltham, Mass.) and Antoinette Cobbs-Caruso (Worcester, Mass.) with times of 22:16, 22:23, and 24:43 respectively.
Also competing for the Penmen today was junior Abigail MacBeth (Cumberland, R.I.), who crossed the finish line in 22:24; sophomore Sarah Hassett (Brewster, Mass.), finishing with a time of 22:57; and senior Melissa Stacom (Massapequa, N.Y.), who completed the course in 22:53.
The SNHU women's cross country team is in action again next Saturday when it heads to Franklin Pierce University to partake in the Bruce Kirsh Cup at 10:00.
