Junior Laura O'Hanlon (Dedham, Mass.) finished ninth overall in a time of 19:03 to pace the Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEIcAAA) Cross Country Championships at Franklin Park in Boston.
O'Hanlon was the top Division II student-athlete in a race that consisted of 319 student-athletes from 29 Division I, II and III institutions.
Junior Felicia Dowling (Merrimack, N.H.) finished second for the Penmen in 22:11, and freshman Ashley Dennis (Coventry, R.I.) was next across the line in 22:20. Junior Devanee Ebert (Reading, Mass.) finished fourth for Southern New Hampshire in 24:11, while senior Abigail MacBeth (Cumberland, R.I.) was forced to withdraw with an injury two miles into the race.
Notes:
- The Penmen competed in the women's 5,000-meter junior varsity race.
- Boston College captured the event with a team score of 26 points.
What's Next:
Southern New Hampshire resumes its schedule on Friday, Oct. 16 when it takes part in the Bruce Kirsh Cup at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H.
