GOFFSTOWN, N.H. – New York Institute of Technology, ranked No. 13 in the latest ITA Division II national rankings, blanked Southern New Hampshire University 9-0 in women's tennis Friday evening at the Allard Center. The Bears, who are ranked No. 1 in the East Region, remained unbeaten at 13-0, while the Penmen, who are seventh in the region, now stand 11-3 on the season.
The Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles, then swept all six singles matches. Ashley Loft (Leysin, Switzerland) fell 7-5, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, while Sarah Schöllgen (Meerbusch, Germany) fell 6-3, 7-5 at No. 3 singles.
The Penmen return to action on Saturday, March 14 when they welcome the University of the District of Columbia.
