Box Score SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Julia Suriani totaled five goals and three assists as fifth-ranked Le Moyne College downed Southern New Hampshire University 18-5 in Northeast-10 women's lacrosse Sunday afternoon at Ted Grant Field. The Dolphins upped their record to 6-1 and 3-0 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now 1-3 and 0-3 in the league.
Laura Hoffman also recorded five goals for the Dolphins, while Erica Geremia added four goals and three assists. Maggie Monnat added a goal and six assists.
Southern New Hampshire was led by Alexa Allen's (East Longmeadow, Mass.) two goals, while Lindsay Bucknam (Bow, N.H.), Emily King (Florence, Mass.) and Courtney Nivala (Westminster, Mass.) each had single goals for the Penmen.
Le Moyne and SNHU traded the game's first four goals, with an Allen tally 7:12 into the game tying the game 2-2. The Dolphins proceeded to reel off six straight goals before an Allen free position goal 1:39 before intermission stopped the run and made it 8-3. The hosts took a 10-4 lead into halftime and scored the first seven goals of the second half to salt the game away.
The Dolphins outshot the Penmen 36-22, with Molly Marbut going the first 53 minutes in goal for Le Moyne and making 11 saves en route to the win. Nicole Kennedy (Windham, Maine) made nine saves in goal for SNHU.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Wednesday night when it hosts fourth-ranked University of New Haven in a 5:00 contest at Larkin Field.
