Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – Danielle Jaycox totaled five goals as top-ranked Adelphi University shook off Southern New Hampshire University for a 19-8 Northeast-10 women's lacrosse victory Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field. The Panthers remain unbeaten at 12-0 and 9-0 in the NE-10, while the Penmen saw a three-game win streak snapped and are now 5-6 and 3-6 in the league.
Alexa Froccaro finished with four goals and an assist for the Panthers, while Rachel O'Brien recorded a goal and four assists.
Casey Duggan (Framingham, Mass.) and Ellen Decker (Foxboro, Mass.) led Southern New Hampshire with two goals apiece, while Lindsay Bucknam (Bow, N.H.), Alexa Bedell (Londonderry, N.H.), Emily King (Florence, Mass.) and Kennedy Daziel (East Hampstead, N.H.) each added single tallies.
King gave SNHU a 1-0 lead 25 seconds into the game, before Froccaro scored 1:11 later to tie the game 1-1. The Panthers took a 2-1 lead on an Emily Keesling goal at the 21-minute mark, but Bucknam scored with 19:44 left in the first half to tie the game 2-2. Adelphi proceeded to reel off the final 11 goals of the first half to lead 13-2 going into halftime.
The guests scored the first three goals of the second half to extend their lead to 16-2 before Southern New Hampshire scored five straight to make it 16-7 with 14:43 left on a Decker tally. AU scored three of the game's final four goals.
Taylor Hayes played the first 57:03 in goal for Adelphi and made four saves while Taylor Langston played the final 2:57. Penmen counterpart Nicole Kennedy (Windham, Maine) made seven saves as the Panthers outshot SNHU 38-18.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Tuesday afternoon when it hosts Assumption College in a 4:00 contest.
