Box Score MANCHESTER, N.H. – Emily King (Florence, Mass.) totaled five goals as Southern New Hampshire University topped Assumption College 18-9 in Northeast-10 women's lacrosse Tuesday afternoon at Larkin Field. The Penmen, who won for the fifth time in seven tries, are now 6-6 and 4-6 in the NE-10, while the Greyhounds are 8-6 and 4-6 in the league.
Casey Duggan (Framingham, Mass.) finished with four goals and an assist, while Kennedy Daziel (East Hampstead, N.H.) added three goals and an assist. Ellen Decker (Foxboro, Mass.) contributed two goals and an assist, while Alexa Allen (East Longmeadow, Mass.) notched two goals. Alexa Bedell (Londonderry, N.H.) posted a goal and an assist while Lindsay Bucknam (Bow, N.H.) also scored.
Amy McNeil led Assumption with three goals and an assist, while Tori Russo also scored three times.
Southern New Hampshire never trailed, and with the game tied 3-3 with just over 18 minutes left in the first half, the Penmen scored 10 straight goals to open up a 13-3 lead at the 5:30 mark on a King tally. Assumption scored the final two goals of the half to pull within 13-5 at the break.
Leading 15-7 10 minutes into the second half, the hosts put the game away with three straight goals capped by back-to-back goals by Duggan to make it 18-7 with just over 11 minutes left.
Nicole Kennedy (Windham, Maine) made 10 saves in goal for SNHU, while Jaclyn Chirco allowed 15 goals and made nine saves over the first 39:36 before giving way to Sadie Landon, who made six stops. The Penmen outshot the Hounds 38-23.
Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday when it travels to Saint Anselm College.
