MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saint Anselm College scored the game's first nine goals as it eased past Southern New Hampshire University for a 17-6 Northeast-10 women's lacrosse victory Saturday at Grappone Stadium.  The Hawks improve to 6-6 and 5-5 in the NE-10, while the Penmen are now 6-7 and 4-7 in the league.

Saint Anselm was led by Caitlin Villareal, who had four goals, while Marissa Daly and Erin Marshall notched three goals apiece.

Emily King (Florence, Mass.) and Lindsay Bucknam (Bow, N.H.) each scored twice for the Penmen, while Alexa Bedell (Londonderry, N.H.) and Courtney Nivala (Westminster, Mass.) each added single tallies.

The Hawks scored 32 seconds into the game and proceeded to score nine straight goals to open the contest.  King got the Penmen on the board with 7:03 to go before halftime, and Nivala's goal 2:11 before the break gave the hosts a 9-2 lead at intermission.  Saint Anselm scored four times over the first eight minutes of the second half to build a 13-2 lead.

Allee Ramzi made 11 saves for Saint Anselm, while Penmen goalie Nicole Kennedy (Windham, Maine) turned aside six shots.  The Hawks outshot the Penmen 31-23.

Southern New Hampshire closes out its home schedule Wednesday when it hosts Merrimack College in a 4:00 Northeast-10 game for Senior Day.
