Women's Lacrosse Cruises Past Post

WATERBURY, Conn. - Lindsay Bucknam (Bow, N.H.) totaled five goals and three assists as Southern New Hampshire University downed Post University 21-10 in non-conference women's lacrosse Thursday afternoon at LaMoy Field.  The Penmen improve to 3-5 with the win, while the Eagles fall to 0-9 on the season.

Emily King (Florence, Mass.) totaled five goals and a pair of assists, while Courney Nivala (Westminster, Mass.) scored four times on the afternoon.  Ellen Decker (Foxboro, Mass.) recorded three goals and an assist, while Alexa Allen (East Longmeadow, Mass.) tallied two goals and three assists.  Freshmen Alexa Bedell (Londonderry, N.H.) and Kennedy Daziel (East Hampstead, N.H.) added a goal apiece.

Post was led by Miranda Polaski who notched six goals and an assist.

Southern New Hampshire led 4-3 with just over 20 minutes left in the first half when it scored seven straight goals to take an 11-3 lead on a King goal with just under seven minutes left before halftime.  Polaski made it 11-4 at the 5:02 mark, but goals by Nivala and Decker made it 13-4 at halftime.  The Penmen score seven of the first nine goals of the second half to put the game away.

Nicole Kennedy (Windham, Maine) went the first 51:14 in goal for SNHU and made four saves while allowing six goals before giving way to Jena Corkhum (Nashua, N.H.), who made one save the rest of the way.  Post goalie Kathy Walker made 12 saves as the Penmen outshot the Eagles 40-18.

Southern New Hampshire returns to action Saturday when it hosts Pace University in a 4:00 Northeast-10 contest at Larkin Field.
