Daziel Named NE-10 Rookie of the Year, Three From Women's Lacrosse Honored

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Kennedy Daziel (East Hampstead, N.H.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team was named the Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Year as the conference announced its All-Conference teams Thursday afternoon.  A total of three Penmen were honored, as senior Emily King (Florence, Mass. was a First Team selection, while junior Adrianna Frattasio (Walpole, Mass.) was a Second Team selection.  Daziel was also named to the All-Rookie Team.

Daziel, a Pinkerton Academy product, becomes the third Penmen player to earn Rookie of the Year honors.  Emily Mongeau earned the award in 2009, while Phoebe Clark was named Rookie of the Year in 2011.  Starting all 15 games, Daziel finished with 24 goals and five assists for 29 points, good for fifth on the team in scoring.  She had a season-best four points with three goals and an assist in a win over Assumption College on April 14 and recorded multiple points in 10 games.

King led the Penmen in scoring, finishing the season with 50 goals and four assists for 54 points.  She currently ranks fifth in the NE-10 in goal scoring and 12th in point production.  King totaled a season-high seven points (five goals, two assists) in a win at Post University on April 2 and scored in every game this season, including 13 multi-goal games.  King wrapped up her career with 146 goals and 11 assists and scored in her final 36 games as a collegian.

Frattasio, a defender, started all 15 games for the Penmen and ranked second on the team with 21 caused turnovers on the season.  She also recorded 24 ground balls and 11 draw controls and now has 37 caused turnovers over her first three seasons in an SNHU uniform.

The SNHU women's lacrosse team finished 8-7 overall and narrowly missed out on its first postseason berth since 2011.
