DAKTRONICS RELEASE AND FULL LIST OF TEAMS

NEWARK, Del. — Senior Ali Maloof (Norwood, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University softball team has been named the 2015 Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) East Region Player and Pitcher of the Year, as the organization announced its All-East Region teams on Monday. Maloof also earned First Team All-East Region honors, and she was accompanied on the First Team by junior outfielder Mo Hannan (Scarborough, Maine) and freshman designated hitter Sarah Lavallee (Candia, N.H.).

The reigning Daktronics All-East Pitcher of the Year, Maloof was also named the Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Year for the third consecutive season and garnered the Player of the Year distinction as well. She is 24-2 in 26 appearances in the circle for the Penmen with 24 complete games and 168 innings pitched. Maloof enters this weekend's NCAA East Super Regional with a 1.21 earned run average and she averages 8.08 strikeouts per seven innings for a total of 194 this season. Offensively, she has compiled a .400 batting average, rapped out 56 hits, six doubles, four triples and four home runs while driving in 24 runs and scoring 34. Maloof helped Southern New Hampshire advance to its first-ever Super Regional after going 4-0 and allowing just three earned runs while striking out 41 batters in 34 innings pitched in last weekend's NCAA East II Regional.

Hannan earns All-East recognition for the first time in her career. A First Team All-Northeast-10 selection, the junior centerfielder continues to serve as one of the top offensive players in the region this season out of the leadoff spot for the Penmen. She is batting a team-high .411 with 12 doubles, three triples and three home runs. Hannan has collected 58 hits, 24 RBI and has scored 38 runs while also putting together a .462 on-base percentage and a .603 slugging percentage. She has reached base safely in 35 of Southern New Hampshire's 42 games, and defensively she has committed just one error in 44 total chances.

Lavallee, a First Team All-East and All-NE10 honoree at the designated hitter position, has been one of the top first-year players in the region. In her first season for the Penmen, she is hitting at a .327 clip with seven doubles and eight home runs. Lavallee has driven in 27 runs thus far, scored 20 times and has a .634 slugging percentage to lead the team.

After winning its first NCAA regional title, Southern New Hampshire returns to action on Friday when it hosts Adelphi University in the NCAA East Super Regional at Penmen Field. The opening game of the best-of-three series will be at 2 p.m. on Friday and the first pitch of game two is slated for 2 p.m. on Saturday. If necessary, a winner-take-all third game will be played at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The winner of the NCAA East Super Regional will advance to the NCAA Division II College World Series in Oklahoma City.
