Results: University of New England (56), Stonehill College (59), American International College (84), Assumption College (100), Merrimack College (125), Southern New Hampshire University (130), Saint Anselm College (140), Saint Michael's College (198).
Buoyed by a pair of top-10 finishes, the Southern New Hampshire University women's cross country team placed sixth at the 2015 Shacklette Invitational on the campus of Saint Anselm College on Saturday.
Junior Laura O'Hanlon (Dedham, Mass.) led the way for the Penmen with a sixth-place finish after navigating the 5,000-meter course in 19:11. Freshman Gabrielle Richardson (Litchfield, N.H.) posted a time of 19:21 in her first collegiate race to finish ninth. Senior Stacey Wojcik (Wrentham, Mass.) rounded out the contingent of SNHU competitors in the top-20, as she checked in at No. 17 in 19:45.
Notes:
- The race consisted of 118 runners from eight institutions.
- O'Hanlon was the top SNHU finisher for the seventh time in her previous eight races dating back to last season.
- Richardson's time of 19:21 is the third-best 5K performance by a freshman in program history.
What's Next:
The Penmen are back in action on September 19 when they travel to the UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.
