NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE
MANSFIELD, Mass. – Graduate student Abla Chadli (Rabat, Morocco) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team was selected as the Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 2, the league office announced Monday.
Chadli captured her only singles match of the week – and it was a big one. Chadli toppled Merrimack College's Grace Messina, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 1 singles in a match the Penmen would go on to win, 6-3. Messina, the three-time defending Northeast-10 Player of the Year, entered the match with Chadli 44-0 all-time in Northeast-10 play in singles action and 65-12, overall.
Chadli, who was also named the NE-10 Player of the Week back on Sept. 7, is a perfect 9-0 in singles dual match play on the season.
Chadli and the Penmen return to action Wednesday, Oct. 5 (3 p.m.) when they play host to Bentley University at the SNHU Tennis Courts.
