Junior Ellen Decker (Foxborough, Mass.) and freshmen Kristin Wilder (Framingham, Mass.) and Mary Beth Sweeney (Foxborough, Mass.) each scored a goal, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team fell to top-ranked Adelphi University, 13-3, Tuesday night at Motamed Field.

Jacqueline Jahelka opened the scoring, potting a pair of goals 1:17 apart just over two minutes into the contest to give Adelphi the early lead. After the Panthers doubled their lead to 4-0 just under nine minutes in, Decker put the Penmen on the board off a feed from senior Alexa Allen (E. Longmeadow, Mass.) at the 19:34 mark of the opening half.

Wilder would connect on a free-position shot just under three minutes later to make it a two-goal game, but five straight tallies to end the half sent Adelphi into the break with a 9-2 advantage. Jahelka scored three goals during the stretch, while Rachel O'Brien had a hand in all five scoring plays with a goal and four assists.

O'Brien picked up where she left off to begin the second half as she set up a strike just 28 seconds in and then scored her own off a Jahelka pass to make it 11-2 nearly eight minutes into the second stanza.

Adelphi would add to its lead 35 seconds later before Sweeney capitalized on her free-position attempt to cut it to 12-3 with 16:55 remaining. Jahelka would close the scoring with 11:55 left on an O'Brien set-up.
