Freshman Kristin Wilder (Framingham, Mass.) registered a team-high four points, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team had its four-game winning streak snapped with a 16-7 loss to 18th-ranked Bentley University on Saturday at the Bentley Turf Field.

Wilder scored three goals and added an assist, while junior Ellen Decker (Foxborough, Mass.) tallied three points on a goal and two assists. Sophomore Alexa Bedell (Londonderry, N.H.) was the only other Penmen to produce multiple points as she potted a pair of goals.

Bentley scored the first four goals of the game – with Kelsey Howard contributing a pair of strikes and an assist – over the opening 9:45. Junior Casey Duggan (Framingham, Mass.) and Bedell answered with goals on respective assists from senior Alexa Allen (E. Longmeadow, Mass.) and Decker to slice the Southern New Hampshire deficit in half at 4-2 with 17:12 remaining in the opening half.

Wilder answered another Bentley goal to keep it a two-score game at 5-3 with 11:17 to play, but Bentley added two more, including Howard's third of the day, to nudge the advantage to 7-3 with under 10 minutes to go. Wilder then set up Decker, but the Falcons tacked on two more at the end of the half to bring a 9-4 lead into the break.

Bentley opened the second half the same way it began the first, with four straight goals, including the final two from Howard, to open a commanding 13-4 advantage with 13:15 left. The Penmen scored three of the next five goals, including two from Wilder and one from Bedell, to trim the deficit to 15-7 with 6:00 left, but would not score again. Bentley tacked on the contest's final tally with 36 seconds to play.
