Duggan and Bedell both scored two goals and handed out a pair of assists, while junior Courtney Nivala (Westminster, Mass.) potted two goals and freshman Kristin Wilder (Framingham, Mass.) added a goal and a helper.
New Haven jumped out to a 6-1 lead over the opening 23:42 before freshman Marisa McLaughlin (New Milford, Conn.) found the back of the net off a Duggan assist 3:52 before the half to send the Penmen into the break trailing, 6-2.
Wilder opened the second-half scoring just 2:22 in before Bedell made it a two-goal game just 31 seconds later with her first of the day. After Maya Szymanski struck for the second time at 25:41, Bedell answered 24 seconds later and was followed by a Wilder-to-Duggan connection that made it a one-goal game at 7-6 with 23:27 remaining.
After the teams traded goals, the Chargers reeled off four straight to widen the gap to five at 12-7 with 5:55 on the clock. Bedell set up goals from Nivala and Duggan to make it a 12-9 game with just under four minutes to play, but SNHU would run out of time.
