Score:
Southern New Hampshire University 19, Young Harris College 11
Records: SNHU 3-0, YHC 4-6

Sophomore Kristin Wilder (Framingham, Mass.) scored seven times and sophomore goalkeeper Leah Olansky (Bennington, Vt.) stopped a career-best nine shots to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team to a 19-11 victory against Young Harris College on Wednesday at the YHC Soccer and Lacrosse Field.

Wilder, who matched her career high with the seven goals, added an assist for eight total points. Junior Kennedy Daziel (E. Hampstead, N.H.) registered six points on three goals and three assists, while fellow junior Alexa Bedell (Londonderry, N.H.) and sophomore Alexis Felt (Manchester, N.H.) both notched five points with three goals and a pair of helpers.

Southern New Hampshire jumped out to a 1-0 lead 3:53 in when senior Casey Duggan (Framingham, Mass.) set up Felt for the game's first goal. Freshman Merry Harrington (Peabody, Mass.) then found the back of the net off a feed from Wilder just shy of three minutes later to make it 2-0.

Kendra Parenteau put Young Harris on the board at the 21:20 mark of the opening half, but the Penmen would score six of the game's next seven goals to open an 8-2 advantage with 10:46 to play. Daziel and Wilder each scored twice during the stretch.

The Mountain Lions trimmed their deficit to five exactly four minutes later, but Wilder would score twice to begin a run of four straight goals that increased the Southern New Hampshire lead to 12-3 with 2:08 on the clock. Duggan handed out a pair of assists during the four-goal outburst. Parenteau would score with just five seconds remaining in the half to make it a 12-4 game heading to the break.

The Penmen grabbed a commanding lead less than five minutes into the second half as a pair of unassisted Wilder goals, sandwiched around two strikes from Bedell, made it 16-4. Parenteau found the back of the net again to stop the bleeding before senior Ellen Decker (Foxborough, Mass.) and Felt scored to nudge the lead to 18-5 with 16:17 to go.

Young Harris would score four straight and six of the last seven goals of the evening, including three more from Parenteau, to cut into the final deficit.

Notes:
- All nine of Olansky's  saves came in the opening half. Young Harris goalkeeper Julia Darroch finished with 10 stops.
- Southern New Hampshire outshot Young Harris, 31-24, while the Mountain Lions held an 18-15 edge in draw controls.
