KINGSTON, R.I. – The Southern New Hampshire University cheerleading team opened up its 2017 season with a first-place finish at the New England Cheerleaders Association (NECA) All-Star & College Championships on the campus of the University of Rhode Island Saturday.
In their first competitive outing of the season, the Penmen settled into their performance on the mat quickly, and were able to demonstrate for the crowd the hard work and dedication that they have all put in this year so far.
Eager to please the judges, the team performed well, placing first in the Co-Ed College Division. They also gained many compliments from coaches and other teams on the routine and energy demonstrated throughout.
While there is still room to improve with the judges suggestions, the team is looking forward to getting out on the mat again in preparation for their trip to College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida in just over a week.
