NORTHEAST-10 RELEASE

MANSFIELD, Mass.– Junior Erin Garczynski (Norwood, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University softball team was selected as the Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the period ending April 1, the league office announced Tuesday. 

Garczynskiwas nearly impossible to get out last week, as the Penmen went 3-2. Garczynski batted a staggering .786, as she was 11-for-14 with two walks, a home run, seven RBI and three runs scored, while slashing .813/1.143/1.956. Garczynski turned in a 3-for-3, one-RBI performance in Monday's 1-0 win against Saint Michael's College and again in a 6-2 victory in game two at Post University on Thursday. In a 13-0 win in game one against the Eagles, Garczynski was 2-for-2 with a walk, home run, double, two RBI and two runs scored. She was also 3-for-6 with three RBI Saturday, as the Penmen were swept in a doubleheader by Stonehill College.

Through 26 games this season, Garczynski, who also earned NE10 Player of the Week honors this season March 12, is batting .384 (33-86) with 24 RBI and 19 runs scored, to go with a .413 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging mark. Garczynski ranks third in the league in RBI and is tied for sixth in hits.

Garczynski and the Penmen return to action Wednesday, April 4 (4/6 p.m.) when they play host to crosstown-rival Saint Anselm College in a doubleheader at the SNHU Softball Field.
