MANCHESTER, N.H. – Former Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer All-American Dominic Samuel won a Canadian Premier League Championship with Forge FC last month, downing Calvary FC, 1-0, for its first North Star Shield.
"We are so proud of Dominic and his accomplishments," said SNHU men's soccer head coach Josh Taylor. "Playing professional soccer was always a dream for Dominic since he was at SNHU and we are thrilled that all his hard work paid off. All Dominic knows is winning championships, between four NE10 titles and a National Championship at SNHU, and now the Canadian Premier League Championship. We look forward to following his second season with Forge FC, as it defends its title."
Samuel, a defender, who also recorded one assist during the season, recently re-signed with the team for the 2020 season.
Samuel, who played for the Penmen from 2012-15, was a three-time All-American, four-time All-Region pick, four-time NE10 All-Conference selection and the 2015 NE10 Defensive Player of the Year. Samuel started 86 of the 87 matches he played in, racking up 15 goals and two assists for 32 points. He captured four NE10 titles and the 2013 NCAA Division II National Championship.
