HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 1

  • Southern New Hampshire jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second as walks to junior Jake Coro (Johnston, R.I.) and senior Joshua Zbierski (Stafford Springs, Conn.) put a pair on with two out, before an RBI single from graduate student John Stanton (Sandwich, Mass.) and two-run single from Taveras did some damage.
  • Stonehill grabbed two back in the bottom of the third on an RBI double to right-center from William Kelleher and a run-scoring single to center by Harrison Sabo.
  • SNHU posted another three-spot in the fourth. Zbierski scored the first run when he drew a lead-off walk, swiped second, went to third on a wild pitch and came home on another wild pitch that was ball four to Stanton. An RBI double to left from Goldstein and a run-scoring base knock to left for freshman Alex Kennedy (Braintree, Mass.) extended the lead to 6-2.
