Results: T-15th/24 (12 points)
Sophomore Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) ran an NCAA Provisional Qualifying time in the 3000m race at the New England Championships Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Track & Field Center.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Grad student Ashley Elder (Bristol, Conn.) and Corcoran were the only SNHU athletes to compete on the second day of the New England Championships.
- Elder finished in fourth place in the shot put with a throw of 14.49m (47' 6.5"). She has already met NCAA Provisional Qualifying Standards in the event.
- Corcoran ran the 3,000m race in a new program record time of 9:52.75, which met the NCAA Provisional Qualifying for the distance.
- Corcoran finished in fourth place in the race, finishing just about ten seconds behind winner Shannon Murdock of UNH.
- Corcoran has now met the NCAA Provisional Qualifying standards for both the 3,000 and 5,000m.
WHAT'S NEXT
- SNHU is scheduled to compete at the Panther Invite at Plymouth State University next Saturday, February 8.
