Senior Tom Blandini (Bow, N.H.) went 6-for-9 with three RBI, and senior Wesley Tobin (Portsmouth, N.H.) and redshirt-junior Alex Gomes (Peabody, Mass.) each turned in quality starts, to lead the 23rd-ranked Southern New Hampshire University baseball team to a pair of wins Friday in the opener of its Myrtle Beach trip at The Ripken Experience. SNHU defeated Felician University, 11-2, before following up with a 10-1 victory over Mercy College.

KEY MOMENTS - FELICIAN GAME
- After Southern New Hampshire took advantage of five Felician errors to score five unearned runs and build a 7-2 lead, Mercedes added to it in the sixth with a one-out, solo home run to center.
- Hernandez polished off the victory in the ninth with a one-out, three-run, pinch-hit home run to right that extended the SNHU advantage to 11-2.

- Graduate student Thomas Novick (Sudbury, Mass.) struck out a pair in a perfect eighth inning.
- Redshirt-sophomore Andrew Tache (Northborough, Mass.) recorded a punch out in a 1-2-3 ninth.
- Blandini went 3-for-5 with a walk and a run scored.
- Mercedes was 1-for-3 with two walks, a home run, an RBI and a pair of runs scored.

KEY MOMENTS - MERCY GAME
- After the Penmen turned a pair of fourth-inning errors into a three-run lead, Blandini's two-run single in the fifth, followed by another two-run base knock from Taveras in the sixth, broke it open at 7-0.
- SNHU put it away in the seventh, as Chavez' RBI double and another two-run single off the bat of Taveras widened the gap to 10-1.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE - MERCY GAME
- Redshirt-junior Scott Webster (Newburyport, Mass.) struck out a batter in a perfect ninth.
- Blandini went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored.
