Redshirt-junior Alex Gomes (Peabody, Mass.) took a shutout into the eighth inning and the bullpen did the rest, as the 21st-ranked Southern New Hampshire University baseball team extended its winning streak to six games with a 4-1 victory against the defending East Region Champion and eighth-ranked New York Institute of Technology on Saturday at Lorenzo Memorial Field.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire manufactured the game's first run in the top of the second, as graduate student Joshua Goldstein (Haverhill, Mass.) started a two-out rally by drawing a walk and stealing second, before Blandini knocked him in with a base hit.
- After a sacrifice fly from senior Jake Coro (Johnston, R.I.) gave SNHU some breathing room in the sixth, the Penmen would double their lead in the eighth on an RBI double from Chavez and a sac fly from junior Dakota Mulcay (Goffstown, N.H.) that made it 4-0.
- New York Tech finally broke through for a run in the home half against Gomes, but Artymowicz came in to nail down the final two outs of the frame, before firing a 1-2-3 ninth for his first save of the season.
