Freshman Isabella Andrade (Cochabamba, Bolivia) claimed a victory at No. 4 singles, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team opened its spring schedule with a 6-1 loss to the University of Findlay on Friday afternoon at the Lake Canoe Tennis Center in Orlando, Fla.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Andrade was victorious against Laura Brito, 6-4, 6-1.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, which had won nine consecutive matches, has now dropped two straight.
- Andrade remains undefeated at a perfect 14-0 this season in dual-match play.
- The Penmen are ranked No. 6 in the ITA East Region Rankings.
- Freshman Magdalena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Republic) is ranked No. 50 in the nation in singles, as well as fifth in the East Region. She suffered a 6-3, 6-3 loss at No. 1 to Laiying Alvarado.
- As a doubles tandem, Hubickova and sophomore Alexxa Etienne (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) are fourth in the region. They dropped a tight match at No. 1 to Alvarado and Samantha Sweet, 7-6 (7-4).
