Sophomore Skylar Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) scored twice, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team suffered a 19-5 loss to 18th-ranked Saint Anselm College in its season opener Wednesday afternoon at Grappone Stadium.

KEY MOMENTS
- Saint Anselm would score the first seven goals of the game and eventually take a 9-2 lead to the break.
- The Hawks duplicated the feat in the second half with seven straight to take a commanding 16-2 advantage. SNHU would respond by scoring three of the next four goals.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Junior goalkeeper Caela McCartney (Arvada, Colo.) drew the first start of her career and made nine saves in 48:40 of action. Freshman Megan Petko (Monroe, N.Y.) did not stop either of the two shots she faced over the final 11:20.
- Saint Anselm goalkeeper Grace Young turned aside nine of the 14 shots that came her way.
- Saint Anselm outshot Southern New Hampshire, 45-19, including 28-9 in the opening stanza.
- The Hawks also held a 17-9 advantage in draw controls, including 10-2 in the first half.
- SNHU was 2-for-6 on its free-position opportunities, while Saint Anselm was 3-for-10.
