Women's Lacrosse Tripped Up by #13 Bentley

Senior Casey Johnson (Amherst, N.H.) and graduate student Dani Tompkins (Derry, N.H.) each scored on Senior Day, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team suffered a 17-4 defeat to 13th-ranked Bentley University on Saturday afternoon at Penmen Stadium.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Bentley led, 4-2, with less than 10 minutes to go in the first half when it scored four of the final five goals to bring an 8-3 lead to the break.
  • The Falcons scored the first seven goals of the second half to put it away.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Junior goalkeeper Caela McCartney (Arvada, Colo.) stopped 13 of the 28 shots she faced over the initial 54:19, while freshman Megan Petko (Monroe, N.Y.) did not make a save in the final 5:41. Bentley goalkeeper Eliza Bresler racked up 13 saves.
  • Bentley outshot Southern New Hampshire, 39-24.
  • Bentley also owned a 14-9 advantage in draw controls.
  • Bentley was 4-for-8 on its free-position opportunities, while SNHU went 3-for-8.
NOTES
  • Six of the nine Penmen opponents this season have been nationally ranked.
  • This is the second time Bentley has defeated SNHU this season. The Falcons posted a 21-10 home win over the Penmen on March 27.
  • The Penmen honored Johnson, Tompkins, and seniors Abby Crowell (Laconia, N.Y.) and Nicole Manning (Dedham, Mass.) in a ceremony prior to the game.
