Sophomore Skylar Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) scored a pair of goals Wednesday, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team lost to Stonehill College, 16-5, at W.B. Mason Stadium in its final regular-season road contest.

KEY MOMENTS
  • Stonehill scored the first six goals of the contest over the opening 24-plus minutes. Renaud put the Penmen on the board with 3:38 to go in the first half, but the Skyhawks answered to bring a 7-1 advantage into the break.
  • The hosts then recorded eight of the first 10 markers in the second half to balloon the lead to 15-3 with 8:50 on the clock.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Junior goalkeeper Caela McCartney (Arvada, Colo.) stopped 11 shots, while Stonehill's Kaleigh Wright made eight of nine saves in the first half and Bailey Grant turned away four of eight in the second.
  • Graduate student Dani Tompkins (Derry, N.H.) also added an assist.
  • Stonehill outshot Southern New Hampshire, 32-20.
  • SNHU held a 12-10 edge in draw controls.
  • Stonehill was 1-for-5 on its free-position opportunities, while SNHU went 0-for-1.
NOTES
  • This is the second time Stonehill has defeated SNHU this season. The Skyhawks posted a 21-5 road win over the Penmen on March 24.
  • Renaud continues to lead the team in goals (22) and points (25).

  • The Penmen wrap up the regular season Friday, April 23 (3:30 p.m.) when they play host to Franklin Pierce University at Penmen Stadium.
