Sophomore Skylar Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) scored three goals and junior Erin Gorton (Kennebunk, Maine) dished three assists, but the Southern New Hampshire University women's lacrosse team fell to 16th-ranked Assumption University for the second time in one week, dropping a 15-8 decision Wednesday at Penmen Stadium.

KEY MOMENTS
  • SNHU struck first just 1:19 in, but trailed, 4-1, with 18:13 remaining in the opening half when it held Assumption scoreless for nearly 18 minutes and reeled off five straight to take a 6-4 lead. The Greyhounds would score with 25 seconds left to trim their halftime deficit to 6-5.
  • It was almost all Assumption in the second half, as it scored the first six goals and the final four to put it away.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Junior goalkeeper Caela McCartney (Arvada, Colo.) made 11 saves, while Assumption goalkeeper Allie Collins stopped 13 shots.
  • Sophomore Courtney Cronin (Woburn, Mass.) also scored a goal for the Penmen, while graduate student Dani Tompkins (Derry, N.H.) and junior Madison Peredna (Derry, N.H.) each notched an assist.
  • Assumption outshot Southern New Hampshire, 32-22, including 18-7 in the second stanza.
  • The Greyhounds also had an 18-8 advantage in draw controls.
  • Assumption was 1-for-2 on its free-position opportunities, while SNHU went 1-for-5.

  • Four of the six Penmen opponents this season have been nationally-ranked.
  • Renaud continues to lead the team in goals (16) and points (18).
  • Gorton and Peredna are tied for the team lead with five assists.
  • Gorton's three assists matched her career high for the second time.
