Redshirt-junior Dakota Mulcay (Goffstown, N.H.) set the program's career home run record with a game-tying solo shot in the ninth inning of game two, before graduate student Joshua Goldstein (Haverhill, Mass.) drove in the game-winning run in the 10th, as the 20th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University baseball team rallied salvaged the second game of Sunday's Northeast-10 Championship divisional final doubleheader against Franklin Pierce University at Penmen Field. The Ravens held off the Penmen for a 9-7 victory in the opener, before SNHU grabbed a 4-3 extra-inning win in the second game.

KEY MOMENTS - GAME 1
- Franklin Pierce jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on back-to-back home runs by Tyler Patane and Jonel Ozuna.
- After Southern New Hampshire sliced the deficit in half in the second, the Ravens put three more runs on the board in the third to make it 5-1.
- FPU tacked on another run in the seventh, before the Penmen posted a three-run home half to pull within 6-4. Redshirt-freshman Christian Mercedes (Providence, R.I.) started it with a solo home run to left, with LaRocca and redshirt-junior Idelson Taveras (Lawrence, Mass.) drawing bases-loaded walks to bring in the final two runs.
- Grad student Marcus Chavez (Queens, N.Y.) came through with an RBI single in the eighth to make it a 6-5 game.
- Ozuna gave the Ravens some much-needed breathing room in the ninth with a two-out, three-run homer that extended the lead to 9-5 after an error kept the inning alive.
- LaRocca's two-run homer in the bottom of the frame trimmed the SNHU deficit to 9-7 and the Penmen would bring the tying run to the plate later in the inning, but did not score.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE - GAME 1
- Henrie was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.
- LaRocca went 3-for-4 with a home run, walk, three RBI and a run.
- Mercedes was 2-for-5 with a home run, RBI and run scored.
- Redshirt-freshman Danniel Rivera (New Britain, Conn.) finished 2-for-6 with a pair of doubles and a run.
- Chavez was 1-for-3 with a pair of walks, an RBI and a run.
- Mulcay went 1-for-5 with a double and a run scored.
- Redshirt-junior Jeffrey Praml (Bridgewater, N.J.) tossed eight-and-two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs - five earned - on seven hits, while striking out nine and walking one.
- Redshirt-sophomore Ricky Alexy (Needham, Mass.) pitched a third of an inning and was charged with one unearned run on one hit.
KEY MOMENTS - GAME 2
- Franklin Pierce, playing as the home team in game two, again went up, 2-0, in the first, with a two-out, two-run blast off the bat of Ozuna doing the damage.
- SNHU tied it in the fourth with a two-run double from Henrie, but the Ravens went back in front, 3-2, in the bottom of the frame as Ozuna belted his fourth home run of the afternoon.
- The score stayed that way into the ninth when Mulcay swatted a one-out solo home run to right that gave him the record and tied the game, 3-3. Artymowicz, who came on in the eighth and stranded a pair of Ravens, struck out the side in order in the ninth.
- Goldstein then shook off an 0-for-9 start to the doubleheader in a big way when he drove a double to the gap in right-center that scored Taveras, who led off with a lined single to center and stole second. Artymowicz spun a 1-2-3 bottom of the 10th to seal the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE - GAME 2
- Redshirt-sophomore Alex Kennedy (Braintree, Mass.) went 1-for-3.
- Henrie (double, 2 RBI), Mulcay (home run, RBI, run), Taveras (run, steal) and Goldstein (double, RBI) were all 1-for-4.
- Rivera was 1-for-5 with a run scored and a stolen base.
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire, ranked 20th in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Poll, moves to 14-8 (.636) in its eighth NE10 Championship appearance, including 1-3 against Franklin Pierce.
- SNHU now leads the all-time series with Franklin Pierce, 46-42-1. It has won 14 of the last 16 meetings with the Ravens, who are receiving votes in the latest NCBWA DII Poll.
- The Penmen move to 11-4 at home this season and are now 106-28 (.791) at Penmen Field since the start of the 2014 campaign.
- Mulcay's home run is his eighth of the season and 22nd of his career, moving him past Jon Minucci (2010-13) for first place on SNHU's all-time list. It also puts Mulcay into the top 10 on the program's single-season list for the second time (2018 - 8).
- LaRocca's long ball is his third of the season and of his career, while Mercedes' is his first of the season and the second of his career.
- Artymowicz, who recorded six saves as a reliever over the first three years of his career, earns his first win out of the bullpen since April 8, 2018 in a 9-4 triumph over American International College.
- Henrie and Rivera both own four-game hitting streaks and have a hit in nine of their last 10. Mulcay is riding a three-game streak and has hit safely in seven of eight.

- The top-seeded Penmen and second-seeded Ravens will play a winner-take-all game three in the NE10 Championship divisional final Monday (May 17) at noon at Penmen Field. The winner will advance to the NE10 Championship final (May 21-22) against the winner of the Southwest Division. Top-seeded Adelphi University and second-seeded Le Moyne College will also play a game three Monday after splitting Sunday's doubleheader.
