KEY MOMENTS - GAME 1
  • The contest was scoreless into the bottom of the third inning when the Penmen bats warmed up to strike four times. RBI doubles from redshirt-freshman Christian Mercedes (Providence, R.I.) and Chavez started it before Mulcay delivered the big blow with a two-run homer to center that made it 4-0.
  • Mulcay did it again in the fourth, stroking a two-run blast the opposite way to left-center to extend the SNHU advantage to 6-0.
  • Four more in the eighth broke it open, as a Goldstein two-run shot and RBI singles from redshirt-junior Sam Henrie (Middleboro, Mass.) and LaRocca brought the score to an even 10-0.

  • After Adelphi, which was playing as the home team, pushed across a run in the fifth on a wild pitch, Southern New Hampshire answered with a five-run sixth inning in which they clobbered three home runs. NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire, ranked 20th in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Poll, improves to 17-8 (.680) in its eighth NE10 Championship appearance and captures its third NE10 title (2014, 2016) in as many trips to the finals.
  • Kennedy was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the NE10 Baseball Championship and earned a spot on the All-Championship Team, where he was joined by both Mulcay and Gomes.
  • SNHU now leads the all-time series with Adelphi, 12-6 (.667) and has won nine of the last 10 meetings, including four straight. The Penmen and Panthers had met once before in the NE10 Championship, with Southern New Hampshire earning a 2-0 victory in the 2014 title game.
