NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore
Lois Tsui (Amsterdam, Netherlands) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's tennis team was named the NE10 Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 12, the league office announced Tuesday.
Tsui, who also captured the award back on Sept. 23, went 3-0 during a 2-0 week for SNHU. Tsui's No. 1 singles match in a 4-1 win at Saint Anselm College on Thursday was unfinished when the contest was suspended due to darkness. She then pulled out a 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 victory over Lucy McPherson at the top flight in Saturday's 6-1 win at Saint Michael's College. She also combined with junior
Dajana Abadzic (Weinstadt, Germany) for a pair of No. 1 doubles victories. They doubled up Saint Anselm's Irene Garbo and Natalia Gonzalez Ramos, 6-3, and then edged McPherson and Emma Gredenhag, 7-6 (7-3), against SMC.
Tsui is 6-2 in singles play this season, including 3-1 in NE10 play. She is also 6-3 in doubles, including 3-2 in the league.
Tsui and the Penmen return to action Saturday, Oct. 18 (12 p.m.) when they play host to Franklin Pierce University at the Ouellette Stadium Tennis Courts.
