Wallace Named NE10 Player of the Week For Third Time

Sophomore scored 32.5 points per game in a 1-1 week

NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Sophomore Jojo Wallace (Milford, Conn.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team was chosen as the NE10 Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 15, the league office announced Monday.

Wallace, who previously won the award Jan. 26 and Feb. 9, dropped 32.5 points per game on 53.2 percent (25-47) shooting during a 1-1 week for SNHU. Wallace, who was 4-for-11 (36.4%) from beyond the arc and 11-for-13 (84.6%) from the line, averaged 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steal per contest. He set a career high with 32 points (11-25 FG, 2-6 3-FG, 8-8 FT), while recording five rebounds and a pair of assists, in Tuesday's 87-81 overtime loss at Saint Anselm College, and then established a new career high with 33 points (14-22 FG, 2-5 3-FG, 3-5 FT), to go with two rebounds, in a 70-62 victory over Adelphi University on Saturday.
 
In 23 games this season Wallace is averaging 23.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.2 steals per contest, while shooting 47.4 percent (203-428) from the field, 37.4 percent (40-107) from 3 and 74.0 percent (91-123) from the stripe. He leads the NE10 in scoring (by nearly 5.0 ppg), field goals made and free throws made, while ranking fifth in 3-pointers made and in the top 20 in 3-point field goal percentage, field goal percentage, free throw percentage, steals and assists.

Wallace and the Penmen (11-13, 5-10 NE10) play their final regular-season home game Wednesday, Feb. 18 (7:30 p.m.) when they host Franklin Pierce University on Senior Night at the Stan Spirou Field House.
