Men's Lacrosse Takes on Nationally-Ranked Molloy in Home Opener on Saturday

THE PENMEN: Southern New Hampshire takes to Larkin Field for the first time in 2015 with hopes of breaking a four-game slide…the Penmen fell in their most recent outing at Mercy College on Tuesday by a final score of 14-8…senior Jeremy Buckley (Norwell, Mass.) has been the focal point of the Southern New Hampshire offense this season, as he has amassed 14 points in five games…Buckley has found the back of the net 13 times this season, including a six-goal effort against then-No. 6 Merrimack College on March 11…classmate Cory Allen (Suffield, Conn.) sits second on the team with 13 points on nine goals and four assists, while junior Cameron Joyce (Braintree, Mass.) has tallied six goals and four assists for 10 points…senior Crosby Nicholson (Andover, Mass.) has started all-five games in the Penmen cage and has stopped 53.3-percent of the shots he has faced, while also leading the team in groundballs with 21.

HEAD COACH PAUL CALKINS: Paul Calkins became the fourth head coach in the history of the Southern New Hampshire University men's lacrosse program in 1989…Calkins, who embarks on his 27th season in 2015, is the longest-tenured active head coach at one school at the Division II level…postseason play has become the norm in recent seasons for the Penmen, as SNHU has appeared in the last two Northeast-10 Championships and has made six tourney appearances since 2004…in 2014, Calkins was named the NEILA Coach of the Year after guiding the Penmen to a 7-7 regular-season mark and the No. 5 seed in the NE-10 Championship.

THE LIONS: Molloy comes into Saturday's contest on the heels of a 9-5 victory at Assumption College on Tuesday…the Lions are 2-0 against the Northeast-10 this season, and their only loss came on the road against No. 2 LIU Post last Saturday…senior Joe Leonard (Hicksville, N.Y.) has accounted for 26 points through five games with 15 goals and 11 assists…senior Tom Engelhardt (Bethpage, N.Y.) also has double-digit goals this season, as he has scored 20 and assisted on five others for 15 points, and junior Peter Clark (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) has seven goals and three assists for 10 points…freshman Ryan Toomey (Hicksville, N.Y.) has seen the majority of time between the pipes for Molloy and he owns a .526 save-percentage and 9.00 goals against average.

WHAT'S NEXT: Southern New Hampshire continues its three-game homestand on Tuesday when it welcomes Assumption to Larkin Field for a 7 p.m. faceoff with the Greyhounds.
