Sophomore Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) registered a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team to a 77-71 non-conference triumph against Roberts Wesleyan College on Tuesday evening at the SNHU Fieldhouse.

Lorenzen's game-high 23 came on 10 of 15 shooting from the field and 3 of 7 shooting from the stripe.

Taya Andrews and Brooke Fields led the Redhawks with 17 and 16 points, respectively.

Roberts Wesleyan jumped out to an 11-0 lead as four different scorers combined over the opening 3:36, including Fields, who contributed four points. Southern New Hampshire roared back with an 11-0 counter-blitz – with six points from sophomore Brianna Camara (Fall River, Mass.) and five from classmate Aaliyah Paxton (Hainesport, N.J.) – to knot the game with 2:41 to play in the opening stanza.

Back-to-back Lorenzen buckets later in the quarter gave SNHU its first lead of the contest at 15-13 with 1:44 left, but Roberts Wesleyan would score four of the frame's final five points to grab a 17-16 edge after one quarter of play.

Four lead changes and a tie began the second stanza before a three-point play from Emily Miller sparked a 5-1 spurt that opened the Roberts Wesleyan lead to 27-23 with 4:38 on the clock. The gap grew as large as five before the Penmen ended the half with seven straight points, including a 3-pointer from freshman Molly Terry (Shrewsbury, Mass.) with six seconds remaining that sent Southern New Hampshire to the locker room with a 38-36 advantage.

After the teams twice traded buckets to open up the second-half scoring, a steal and a layup from Lorenzen triggered a 20-7 avalanche that gave SNHU its largest lead of the night at 62-47 with just under a minute to go in the third. Six different scorers contributed to the run, including Lorenzen, who led the way with six points, and freshman Victoria Dean (Plymouth, Mass.), who added five. A Taylor Bynoe triple would close the scoring and cut the Penmen lead to 62-50 heading into the fourth.

With the margin at 14 a little over a minute into the final frame, a 14-2 rush slashed the Roberts Wesleyan deficit to just a pair at 68-66 with 4:12 remaining. Consecutive baskets from Lorenzen would stop the bleeding and make it a two-possession game for the Penmen with under three-and-a-half minutes to play.

Despite going 5-for-8 from the line over the final two minutes, the Penmen never allowed Roberts Wesleyan to get closer than four the rest of the way.

Camara recorded nine points (2-6 FG, 2-4 3-FG, 1-2 FT), a career-high eight assists (just one turnover) and four rebounds. Terry posted eight points (3-7 FG, 2-5 3-FG), four boards and two assists. Senior Sara Ryan (Quincy, Mass.) tallied eight points (3-6 FG, 2-5 3-FG), five rebounds and three assists, with junior Jennifer Shelp (Apalachin, N.Y.) chiming in with eight points (3-8 FG, 2-2 FT) and six boards. Paxton netted seven points (2-4 FG, 3-6 FT), grabbed five rebounds and blocked a pair of shots, while Dean chipped in six points (2-7 FG, 1-4 3-FG, 1-2 FT) and two boards. Junior Olivia Conrad (Hanover, Mass.) added six points (3-5 FG) and five rebounds.
