Meghan Gordon (Attleboro, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team was chosen as the NE10 Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 4, the league office announced Monday.
Gordon posted 18.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 blocks per game during a 2-0 week for the Penmen, shooting 58.3 percent (14-24) from the field and making all eight of her free throw attempts. Gordon led the way in a 73-47 victory at Mercy University on Wednesday with 18 points (8-12 FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds and four assists. She scored 18 (6-12 FG, 6-6 FT) again in a 72-66 win against American International College on Sunday, adding 14 boards and three blocks.
In 10 contests this season, Gordon is averaging 15.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest, while shooting 52.8 percent (66-125) from the floor and 90 percent (18-20) at the stripe. She ranks third in the NE10 iin field goal percentage, fourth in scoring and sixth in rebounding.
Gordon and the Penmen (6-4) are back in action Wednesday, Jan. 7 (5:30 p.m.) when they play host to Saint Michael's College at the Stan Spirou Field House.
