Southern New Hampshire runners established three new program records while competing Friday at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
One of the new marks was established by freshman Kate Hall (Pawcatuck, Conn.) in the 200 meter dash. Hall was one of five Penmen to run the popular event. Hall's time of 25.92 is the fastest indoor 200m. Sophomore Megan Decker (Durham, Conn.) ran her race in 26.52 seconds. Two other runners established personal best times in the 200m. Sophomore Sydney Blais (Pascoag, R.I.) finished in 26.94 and junior Savannah Reinitzer (Litchfield, N.H.) had a 29.60.
Sophomore Maura Coakley (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) turned in the fastest indoor mile run by an SNHU athlete with 5:15.85. Another program mark was set by freshman Grace Henson (Cumberland, R.I.) in the 1000 meter run. She ran 3:10.67.
Freshman Eliza Fandel (Reading, Mass.) had the best time of three SNHU runners in the 400 meter race on Friday. Fandel's time of 1:02.07 was a personal best. Freshman Olivia Coco (Bedford, N.H.) ran a 2:26.21 for a personal best in the 800 meters.
What's Next:
The Penmen return to action next Saturday and Sunday for the NE10 Indoor Track Championships at Smith College.
